The Empowerment Series consists of workshops and other empowerment activities that are designed to equip you with the skills that you need to succeed outside of the classroom. In order to qualify for the SHINE Award, you must complete the entire Empowerment Series.
Attend workshops, seminars, and training to empower yourself with skills and knowledge from the experts. And then, translate your theoretical skills and knowledge into action by participating in various experiential opportunities under the SHINE Award Programme. OR, you can even initiate your own activity or event!
With a strong commitment to holistic development, Taylor's University is proud to introduce the SHINE Award — an achievement record that formally recognises and rewards all students who wish to reach their full potential by taking part in fun and diverse extra-curricular activities both on and off campus.
Students get to explore exciting social activities, meet and
make new friends, and gain skills that will give them an extra sparkle over the
rest.

"Through personal development, I discovered many things about myself, both strengths and weaknesses that I never knew existed. I am able to construct defined and specific goals to achieve in life."
"Taking on leadership opportunities is always the most difficult for me as leading takes courage, and I value my experiences which I have steadily built through participation in clubs and societies. Along this journey, I have witnessed myself and others being praised for our maturity and persistence to lead successfully."
"I was given a priceless experience at Nestle Products Sdn. Bhd. Comprehending the whole end-to-end process was challenging given the complexity of Nestle supply chain, but was made easier with a patient and understanding reporting manager and friendly colleagues. I also learned that learning happens anywhere and anytime, especially in situations least expected. So be alert and have lots of fun discovering!"
"Apart from visiting and enjoying places of attraction, my main experience was having classes and activities with children in a small village in Changsha. Spending time with those children was a wake up call for me to continue to move forward and develop myself more."
